The Day of the Unfreeze

Or words to that effect . . .

Normally defrosting any of the freezers is a fairly straight forward and ‘leisurely’ task as we run the frozen stock down to a level where we can empty one into the others and let it thaw in its own time.  With the pandemic we are keeping the stocks up, and the only draw low enough to find a space elsewhere for its contents was the fish as we are expecting a delivery next week.

This meant stacking the other draws in a corner of the kitchen buried in towels and a rapid thaw of the freezer with the aid of a fan heater, fan and hair drier.  To be honest I think this was less hassle than the usual leisurely way - all done and back freezing in not much more than half an hour.
