“Charmaine”

I am trying to work out what is in our garden. Over the years we have “ plonked” various plants in, It lacks coherence. But to be fair is looking better now than it has ever looked. But it would help to know what we’ve got.

So having checked, I now know that this clematis is called “Charmaine”. A lot of the flowers are collapsed, and dried out things. A mess from a distance, but much more interesting close up. More “Miss Havisham” than “Charmaine” to my eyes.

I particularly like the central stamens. which seem to rise up from a crumpled silk base.
