Yellow Trees

I have generally shied away from making images that include people, choosing instead to focus on the natural world around me. This photograph could easily have been about the boys fishing, but instead I wanted to feature the yellow trees in the distance and left the figures and boat out of focus. As with any foreground element which is not clearly defined, the eye looks for sharper details elsewhere in the frame.

Although the scene seems peaceful, on another hot day, kids were making an awful racket on jet skis just out of shot. Noise pollution doesn't seem to be an issue.

A tricky shot to edit because of the wide range of exposures that needed to be balanced out.

Extra: Sun Spot. Looks better on black I think.
