Think Tank

An adventurous day, Joe wanted to check out Weka Workshop as he had his eye on one of their rather beautiful benches. The workshop, and their home, lies beyond Collingwood - just about as far north as you can get in the South Island, and very remote. What an incredible place and a delightful couple. Brian showed us around - there were tree houses, other buildings with turf rooves, this rather amazing converted boat, old cars galore, funky raised beds full of veg, - everywhere just teeming with creative recycling and imagination. A bench was purchased!
We carried on a bit to Bainham to sample tea and scones at the Langford Store. It's been a shop and PO since 1928 and is full of knickknacks and collectables. The extra shows the lads enjoying cuppas from bone china cups - note the raised finger! I just loved the loo - the Think Tank! A sort of compostable loo or long drop as it's called here. The colours were amazing. An entry for Silly Saturday but really it's very practical.
We finished off the day with a late lunch at the Mad Cafe in Collingwood, which is all mega vibes and goddesses, and a prance on the very windy, driftwood strewn  beach.

And don't forget it's (Inter)National Holy Well Day on the 14th - just  find a well, tag IHWD20 and job done.
