Thank You For the Days ..

By Fyael

The Scots have a word for it ...

Peelie-wally - I had to get the dictionary out to check how to spell it. It was often used about me  in my youth, when I was pale and skinny. That's more or less what it means.  It can apply to plants or to people.

This climbing rose, Wollerton Old Hall, an English rose, doesn't seem to be enjoying the conditions this year. It has grown very weak and leggy and the stems seem to be having trouble supporting the flowers. And it isn't appreciating the cold wind and the rain.

Neither am I. I'm decidedly lacking in oomph. Though no longer skinny, I'm peelie-wally today and so is the rose.
