a lifetime burning

Metamorphosis

Nearly there, but not quite yet, this damselfly nymph is almost an adult, but still has its gills (the little wings at the end of the tail).

Dad's kitchen is also going through a metamorphosis.  Today I've been going through the kitchen cupboards at Dad's place disposing of the remaining food.  We've already taken anything that was still edible and within its sell by date to a local food bank.  In attempting to recycle as much of the packaging as possible I have been emptying tins, jars and packets and disposing of the contents in the food waste recycling., while recycling the containers. Much of it looked and smelled OK, although some of the jars had some interesting looking mould growing on their contents.  But a very old tin of condensed milk had turned into a rather strange (and thank goodness odour free) brown buttery substance.  Rubber gloves are such a great invention :-)
