Rain Across The Roof

In stop press news, I slept last night.  Twice.  11.30 until 2:30 and then 3 until 7:30.  That's almost human.

In less edifying news, I got up and started work.

That was a mistake.

We have a major implementation this weekend and Other People have been tinkering with access rights* behind the scenes.  This means that programs that we are responsible for, and have been running for years without any problems, stopped working.

Guess who is getting all the "What did you change?  Why did you change it?" e-mails.  Nobody listens to the "Emm, we didn't change anything." answers though.

And because someone changed something that stopped our programs from running, we're now responsible for EVERYTHING that no longer works.

And I mean everything.

I may go back to bed.  Things were better there.

*For those people who have worked on Host based projects before: RACF changes.  Datasets made Read-Only for our Execution ID instead of Update.  But because we're not allowed to look at RACF - it's a security risk apparently - we can't find out exactly what was changed.  Wish me luck for Friday and Saturday.  I may need sedating.
