MARINA

I went to the Marina for the first time in months. All the bars and restaurants are still closed and there were very few people about. Even in "normal" times there's a big turnover in the businesses there often blamed on the avarice of the property company who it's said charge large rents and are also responsible for the high car park charges. I wandered around the lock for a while (making sure I didn't exceed my free half-hour parking, because I wouldn't have been surprised if it was still being enforced) but it was all very quiet - even the reflections weren't moving very much. It was pretty grey and overcast, though as I write this in the mid-afternoon it looks as if the sun might make a breakthrough later.
