Stuff and Nonsense

Speckled Wood #9

Aware that we were supposed to be in for a day of showers according to the forecast, we stayed close to home and took a short drive to a small nature park at Burtonwood. Happily the rain stayed away and we had a short walk skulking around the meadows looking for butterflies and insects. We actually saw 7 species of butterfly/moths - Meadow Brown, Small Tortoiseshell, Small White, Small Skipper, 5-spot Burnett moth, Cinnabar moth and this lovely Speckled Wood.
We have been waiting for the rain to come this afternoon, but so far it has been warm and humid with no sign of it. So, with it being “green bin day” we’ve been happily filling it up again :)
