Water lily envy

It must have rained all night as both large water butts were full this morning. Certainly the allotment looked as if it had enjoyed an enormously long slurp of soaking rain.

We spent a good three hours there this afternoon, clearing, weeding, planting brassicas, planting the next succession of dwarf beans and picking strawberries. It was a very welcome cup of tea when we got home.

The rain just about gave way for our walk, spotted and drizzled a little in the beginning ending in pleasant sunshine. The other week I blipped a larger image of this pond with the water lilies just bursting into bloom. Now this one is in full bloom and looks beautiful against the background with raindrops on the leaf pads.
