A (bed)room with a view

Daniel lives in a summerhouse (glorified shed) at the bottom of our garden, and has been there for the last 2 years. I think he has been quite happy there, although not ideal, he has made it his own room. Today, however, he has found a flat to rent with a friend, so it looks like he will be moving to Cromer in the next month or so, and we will have a summerhouse! We are pleased for Dan. At almost 25 he has done remarkably well to suffer us this long! But it will be good for him to have a bit of independence again.

Now both Jon and I are working from home, and our downstairs has been made over to office space, we are thinking about making the summerhouse a temporary office space for us both. It would be interesting to be working in the same office as each other.

I have had a nice day today. It began with a walk with Lucy my friend from work, who lives in the next village to me. I drove over to hers, and she put her two gorgeous babies in the double pushchair, and we went for a very long socially distanced walk from Matlaske to Plumstead. We were on the road without any pavements, and there were quite a few cars, but apart from that it was a lovely walk. One baby fell asleep eventually and the other settled once we were back home. I stopped for coffee and a long chat, then headed home for lunch. I really appreciated a morning chatting to a friend - it was like pre lockdown days. A nice way to spend my day off.

After lunch Mollie and I went over to North Walsham where we bought a mattress for Mollie’s new bed frame. She had ordered one online at the same time as she bought the frame, but after 31 days waiting for them to deliver, she gave up and cancelled. They said they still didn’t know when it would arrive with them, so couldn’t say when it would be delivered, even though their website still says up to 15 days and offers the same mattress for sale. Now she is waiting for a refund, so we hope that comes soon. Thankfully, Mattressman have come up trumps and promise to deliver on Monday. It will be a celebratory moment if it arrives!!

Some knitting this evening and easy tv.
