What a bright eye you have

Male scaup have bright yellow eyes.  Scaup are diving ducks and have the silhouette of a bath-toy duck.  I had gone to the pond hoping to see the Muscovy ducklings.  There was no sign of them so I am choosing to believe they did not want to be at the pond today.  One year when I had blipped ducklings and then had to report the clutch was getting smaller and then a day with no ducklings.  My lovely daughter said "I choose to believe they did not want to come to the park."
We ordered the mandarin trees today and they will turn up in August.  At the brother in laws we got posts to make borders around two new gardens.  On the way home we got ten bags of pony poo for the new gardens.  A sunny and successful day.
