The accidental finding

A gradual shift

Went to town to post yet more parcels, and to meet a friend. It was raining but many people were about, because the shops have started to reopen.

We did a few errands, not really feeling brave enough to go into shops just to browse. In Home Bargains, the fire alarm went off very loudly, but everyone ignored it, because they were just trying to buy essentials! Eventually we were asked to leave, and moments later, allowed back in.

After this excitement, we went back up the High street to the cafe outside the launderette, and got a takeaway drink. My first in three months! Sat on a bench outside, watching the people of Stroud and their dogs go past. The graze box had to be shared by the separate punnet, so we didn't touch each other's snacks. Nonetheless, it was a totally joyful experience. Even the sun tried to come out.

This shot was taken at the Art of Clay gallery,  half way up the high street. The artist, Clay Sinclair, is a New Zealander who has made his home here in Stroud, where he produces quirky and topical artwork.
