Sleeping companion

I slept well despite the unfamiliar surroundings in Carl's mother's house. I'd been rather taken by the fact that this teddybear was lying with its head on the pillows when I went into the room I was staying in — a nice homely touch.

After breakfast Carl and I went for a site inspection and checked out the work on his house. The builders had quoted a contract time of fifteen weeks, which was longer than either of us had expected, but that was all before the pandemic got added into the mix, which closed the site for half the original estimate. Now it looks as if the work won't be finished until September.

We made our way to the west pier in Dún Laoghaire and sat and enjoyed a take-away coffee before going our separate ways.
