Now, as I see it......

Bury Field

We had a few things to do in town first thing this morning so took the opportunity of a walk around Bury Field.  It is an area of Common Land which dates back to at least 1276 and on a warm and breezy morning it was lovely to walk around it.  Not a long walk; the circumference walk we did was 1.8 miles but paths cross-cross the common so you could do a walk of as long as you wanted.  Part of the way round you cross a railway embankment that never was; construction of the line from Newport Pagnell to Olney crossed the common back in the 1800’s and an embankment was built but the project ran out of money and the line was never finished.

Back home late morning for a welcome brunch of Craster Kippers and home made bread!
