The Fish Hawk

Imagine, over generations Osprey nests can become as large as 10-13’ deep and 3-6’ in diameter. Ospreys can measure 24” long with up to a 6’ wing span. With that perspective now look at how small this adult Osprey looks vs. his nest • Ospreys mate for life, with the female choosing the male based on the quality and location of the nest he builds • Osprey dine exclusively on fish, plucking its live prey directly from the surface of the water. They can spot fish 100 ft. high. When they bring food to the nest the fish is oriented upright, with head facing forward • It appears this nest has 2-3 babies inside.
