Sunny Afternoon

Week 14, Day 1 of shielding.

I have taken a day’s leave from work today, so this afternoon we travelled into deepest Cheshire. A farm which is run with nature/ conservation as the primary objective.

It was fantastic. A sunny and warm afternoon. No other people, so J felt safe. Wonderful wildflower meadows, which reminded me of the countryside when I was a boy. Lots of butterflies. And here, when we stopped for lunch, a skylark flying up into the sky singing it’s joyous song. Some other photos in extras.

J and 2.2million others received the letter from the government this morning, explaining that the shielding advice is going to be changing. Extreme caution required, in practice not a lot will change for us. But we do need to get out. Safely.
