Chalice luminarias

It felt good to get back into the usual routine today co-teaching Sunday School. Today the theme was recognizing and cultivating the light within us to help others. After some deep discussion, the kids were happy to set to work on decorating luminarias. I was surprised to see that without any prompting from the teachers, half of the children put chalices, the symbol of the UU faith, on their luminarias. One child put a Cheshire Cat on his. Another put a Cross. The rest were rather abstract. All in all, a pretty typical and fun day in a UU Sunday School class
