To The First Ferry, Post Lockdown

Writing this from our cabin on the Cap Finistere, still about an hour to go before we sail, but they're trying to stagger boarding because of the virus. Internet is slow, even though we've bought a premium packet - so probably won't be able to comment tonight, but thanks so much for all your comments on yesterday.

Read the remaining two chapters of Charlotte's Web to the kids early on - the penultimate chapter is titled "Last Day", quite hard to keep my voice steady.

Anyway, left Sutton after our usual Sunday breakfast of croissants and grapefruit, for Salisbury, where my recently returned from Florida sister and her husband are. See extra, in their gorgeous small house. Neil made us a delicious lunch from fresh vegetables and his own bread, and then a wonderful walk across rivers and water meadows into see the cathedral.

And then to visit ex-colleagues from Brazil, see second extra (both photos taken from the outside, looking in).

Gratefuls:
- managing to leave... and to arrive safely onto the ferry
- having such a good time with Neil and Jeanette
- and with Roger and Angela - not near enough time to catch up, but better than nothing!

An extra of Stonehenge, from the car window (all parking spaces taped off) - for the kids, remembering Stig of the Dump - see the people on right for scale.
We are sailing - early!
