Fungi up a tree

Walking up Willow Lane (see extra photo) on this morning's walk,  I spotted these magnificent fungi growing on a tree which beginning to rot in parts. Willow Lane is part of the ancient packhorse route across the Woodhead Pass to Cheshire to bring salt to Yorkshire and the east coast. At the bottom of the steep hill is an old humpback bridge over the River Don and the lane up the hill is enclosed mainly by holly trees. It is always atmospheric but felt more so today on a mist morning. Remains a dull day, but at least the wind has dropped and his has hardly rained (yet.)
