Blue Shirt

The fisherman's blue shirt was the thing that caught my eye and, despite being dark because of the backlighting, I thought I could increase its saturation and importance in a mostly monochromatic image. However, by the time I had set up for the shot, the boat had drifted out into open water and I thought I had missed my opportunity. Fortunately, he came about and drifted back again.

I quite like that the foreground leaves and branches are sharp, yet the element that draws the eye, i.e. the fisherman, is out of focus and way out on the edge of the frame. A human form is always going to be significant in an image, we don't need much of a clue for it to be recognisable as such.
