Red cabbage

I'm a fan of red cabbage, especially in winter. Raw in a coleslaw, braised or lightly stir fried, they're all good with me.

This evening I discovered that I can run the peeler back and forwards across the face of the cabbage and produce thin shavings. Perfect.

Less perfect was missing Monday evening pump class. My bedroom was liberally spread with chaffinch feathers and I needed to vacuum and clean up.

Winter is truly here. It's cold, wet and will get progressively colder over the week.
