Whitethroat #60

A much better day than forecast. We left our walk until the afternoon and headed to Lunt Meadows again. It turned out to be both warm and sunny with very little wind and we had a lovely walk. There were an abundance of butterflies and we will need to go back soon so I can catch some more species to blip. But today’s blip goes to this pair of juvenile whitethroat.
They were being fed by their parents but soon after we saw them, a group of three young men with a huge dog went by and scared them off, but not before I’d grabbed a few shots. We waited a little while in case they came back, but it was too hot to stand about in the sun.
We also had distant views of juvenile swallows being fed and we finally got to both hear and see a grasshopper warbler, adding another to my annual (and life) list. It was too far away for a decent shot and as it seems to shiver whilst it sings, most of them were a bit blurred. But I was thrilled to have seen one.
