We go past this postbox regularly on our daily walk, but this is the first time I’ve seen the “Priority” sticker on it.
It seems this is one of many post boxes thus designated and they are for you to use if returning a COVID-19 test ordered through the post. Royal Mail have pledged that if you post your test in one of these boxes, they will ensure they are delivered to the lab first thing the next day.
I’m guessing this is further confirmation that Kendal no longer warrants a regular mobile testing centre, as I noted a week or so back. I’m going to treat this as another positive sign that case numbers are falling in this area, though news of local lockdowns being considered elsewhere (and already implemented in Leicester) mean we should still be alert to the dangers.
Let’s hope these stickers will have disappeared by this time next year - for all the right reasons.
