Today is St Serf’s Day, so the Blip had to be St Serf’s Tower and Church in Dysart.

He was born in 500 and died in 583 (both AD, for the avoidance of doubt.) 83 was quite ancient in those days. He is believed to have founded the town of Culross in West Fife.

The tower is thought to date from the 1540s and the church ruins to be 16th century.

Nothing much happened today, hence the sudden interest in local history.
