Anne's Daily Encounters

Lake Agias

This eve we got to Lake Agias what's in direct neighbourhood of Chania city and not even 15 kms away from home.
I've been here before on several occasions and over various years; Sweetheart told me it's his first time out here.... He wasn't familiar with this gorgeous view, nor with the little lake what's like a birds' paradise. I'd love to bring Sweetheart here soon again in following days, but then at an earlier hour of the day.

Yesterday, the first foreign airplanes landed on Crete and on some other Greek islands, bringing in tourists. Ofcourse the first tourists find it's quiet here still, but that may change a little during the 2 Summer months. Precautions are everywhere and the news brought the item over holiday makers who come by car from Bulgaria and are waiting 5 hours and more lining up at the borders where checks are done now... All this looks to me like an impossible and unmanageable sitution what will soon be ended, or borders will be closed again... crazy times still.

And meanwhile the news from Turkey on its plans with the Greek islands and seas and the Agia Sofia in Istanbul are alarming day by day. The media bring the news that Turkey is provoking Greece continuously and people here fear a warclash with Turkey. Egypt is not amused by Erdogan's arrival in Lybia, Italy and France aren't amused by Recip Erdogan's policies here in the Midterranean.
And Trump?! Trump doesn't know how to read Erdogan's plans and policies in this part of the world. Soon, in 2023 it's 100 years ago that the Treaty of Lausanne and Chevres was signed up and that Treaty also made Turkey acknowledge its loss of the Ottoman Empire... Erdogan is seeking day by day ways of restoring that empire; such a sick game he's up to.
