On our way to see the consultant with Alan. Stuck in traffic so will be late. Oh joy.

Update.....Alan has to go into hospital next Monday for endoscopy and colonoscopy. This will hopeully determine once and for all if it's ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease that he has. The treatment he receives will depend on the outcome. Unfortunately to get the scopes done as soon as possible means we have to take him to Aberdeen, over 100 miles from where we live, but I would rather that than wait any longer.

Got some blood tests taken and saw the dietician who's given us some build up drinks for him in the meantime. Almost no chance he will take them but will try.

The good news is when we got home Alan ate almost a whole kilo carton of Ambrosia custard. The most he's eaten in about 12 days. Fingers crossed this is the start of the return of his appetite.

Talking of appetite, in order to cheer ourselves up David has just made coffee and brought us each a chunk of lemon drizzle cake.

Emotional eating? You bet! :D
