Seeing Beyond Looking

Sign of the times: Mono Monday - alone

A lone masks hangs outside on my balcony, drying in the sunshine with a good breeze blowing.

2020 will always be the year that the Covid-19 became a pandemic.

I have two washable masks and a box of throwaway ones (made in China).

New. stricter rules have been enforced in Switzerland as from today: masks must be worn on all forms of public transport without exception. There were policemen on the metro to make sure this was carried out. Those not wearing masks were turned away and asked to leave the vehicle.

From this Wednesday, in the canton of Jura and Vaud (where I live), everyone must wear masks in all shops.

Since gatherings of 300 people has been allowed just over a week ago (nightclubs, concerts, bars). The number of cases went up in Switzerland. Too much freedom too soon and large numbers of people all in the same indoor space and much too close together.  Not good.

It won't change anything for me as I've always worn a mask on public transport and in all shops.

Latest figures here: 47 new cases, 0 deaths.

Wherever you are, follow the rules and stay safe!
