A time for everything

Another great bike ride!

Tuesday
It was going to be another hot one today, so having been swimming yesterday, it was back to the bike trail today. Much of the trail is shaded, and the movement of air helps cool you down. We had planned to get off straight after breakfast, but we seemed a bit slow getting going this morning, so it was later than I would have liked. We went up to Corwin, this being one of our favourite stretches on the bike trail, passing through farmland, and past Spring Valley wildlife area, shown in my thumbnail photograph, top left of my collage. Having completed our ride, 15 miles for me, and 17 for Roger, we treated ourselves to a light lunch and drink in the shady garden of the Corwin Peddler. On the way back in the car, we stopped in at Menards one of the big hardware stores, to get a few things. Roger had picked up a few small solar powered lights to go along our front path - they have a stake, and you push them into the ground. You can either have them on white or changing colours. He just bought 4 to see if I liked them and see how they worked, and we were pleased with them so we bought some more! As we were leaving the store, it was beginning to thunder, and we did run into some rain, but not much. Once home we had a phone call from Laura - she has now arrived at her sister’s in Salt Lake City, where she is staying for 2 1/2 weeks - they haven’t seen each other since last summer in England and Italy, so I’m glad they’ve been able to arrange this time together. After that phone call, Roger had a chat with his Dad, so once again not a very productive day, but pleasant nonetheless!
