East Lothian

I struggled to get out of bed again today,, but knew I had to be up and ready by 8am, as we were expecting a surveyor to check our windows.  Way back in the mists of time (February) it seems, we ordered new windows and doors.  However the surveyor was due to come just after lockdown, so that of course didn’t happen.  Fast forward by four months and he was here at last.  We must be making progress.  He thinks we should get our new windows and doors in September – six months after ordering them.  Anyway it has now got me thinking about what else we need to do to the front room.  We have an old coal fire which need some attention and which has a very dated surround which has seen better days.  Do we go for a wood burner – decisions, decisions!
Workwise I had a good chat with my boss and then later with my team.  My work day was brought to a close earlier than planned, when a couple of friends popped round to drop some whisky off for TT.  We had a lovely socially distanced chat in the front garden in the sunshine.  The day started quite grey, but turned out lovely.
After tea I had a lovely walk in the evening sunshine.  I didn’t need extra layers or a coat, which is a change from recent times.  Here is a view from my walk.
