Diary Blip (Thursday 9th July 2020)

The roofers were here an hour earlier than normal today and began preparing the external walls from the porch door to the corner of the kitchen window by stripping back the plaster and eroded limestone. Tomorrow they will be pointing and rendering, so this is the "Before" picture. The little window on the right belongs to next door, but I believe they are to have their section done at the same time.
They had finished for the day by 1415 hr and I could have gone out, but I wanted to enjoy the luxury of peace and quiet so instead I have been sorting through the stuff that came down from the loft on Monday.
In other news my Panasonic Lumix LX100 has gone wrong again. It is their badged version of the Leica D-109 with which it is virtually identical but when new cost £300 less, because it doesn't have the red 'Leica' badge on the front.
I have since spent at least that in repairs and am about to spend more, but would the Leica have been any more reliable? It's a pity because in many ways it is a beautiful camera with a super 24-75mm lens.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Everly Brothers - Cuckoo Bird (1969)
There was a period between 1969 and 1972, when the Everlies left Warner Brothers, when they were releasing singles but no album was forthcoming. When one turned up on a compilation, I found a few more on You Tube and listened to them. My favourite of these was Cuckoo Bird, a tune I seemed to know. Clarence White and other members of The Byrds back Don and Phil Everly on this overlooked single.
