Looking up!

The morning was a little unsettled, in fact we had set our breakfast outside, but as we carried our food outside, Roger said to me “Is that thunder?” I hadn’t heard it, and there was still quite a bit of blue sky around, but sure enough, we had hardly started our breakfast when there was another clap of thunder and it started to rain so we had to beat a hasty retreat! It didn’t last more than 20 minutes or so, but looking at Accuweather on our phones, it seemed the best time of day for our exercise would be about 3 pm. It was back to the bike trail today, starting from Morrow. I only did 14 miles return today - I was feeling a bit sluggish! We did manage to complete our ride in the dry, though as we were driving home, the grey clouds were returning.
Our route took us under the Jeremiah Morrow road bridge, which carries the Interstate 71 over the Little Miami Valley, between Fort Ancient and Oregonia, named for the former Governor of Ohio. The current bridges are a pair of concrete box girder bridges built between 2010 and 2016 . The bridges are 239 feet above the river, making them the highest bridges in Ohio, and are 2,252 ft long. They replace the original Warren truss bridge at the same location which opened to traffic in 1965, but unfortunately were of approximately the same design and age as the I-35 Mississippi River Bridge which collapsed in 2007.
