St Peter’s Church, Boughton Monchelsea

Instead of an early morning walk we took lunch with us and had an enjoyable walk along the Greensand Way east of Linton.

Ate lunch in the corner of a field adjacent to a stile with a gate to lean back to watch the ever evolving cloudscape as fluffy, flat topped cumulus clouds formed and dissipated over a 15 minute period. I tried some time lapse shots which failed as the iPhone focused on little spears of grass in front of the lens so making the clouds blurred.

It was pretty much silent, only occasionally did we here a car drive past on a little lane nearby and the occasional aircraft jetting or bumbling overhead.

The walk takes us past St Peter’s Church in Boughton Monchelsea, the Vicar of which is one Rev Goodey, a great name for a Vicar! I know him through the Stilebridge Folk Club (which I’ve not been to for many months or participated in their virtual sessions).

He has a good voice (anyone knows a Vicar who doesn’t?) and plays guitar. One of his other interests is dancing from pre Victorian times. It’s great fun to watch them. He also had the worst collection of one liners that I’ve ever heard.
