I managed to walk my butterfly transect this afternoon and it turned into glorious weather with clear blue skies.
Butterfly numbers were rather lower than I would have hoped but I think the bad weather last week has had an impact.
This is the comma butterfly, named for the little white mark on its underwing. When they sit still they just look like a brown leaf!
