Bags on the beach

I went down to Ruby's Beach this morning for the first time in a couple of years. It was a place we went to every time the girls visited, but we didn't get down there when they were here recently. Next time! I wasn't sure if the path was cleared, but it had been mowed to the stairs and it was easy to walk down. I spotted these bags under one of the boats that people keep on the beach. Looks like they might have been discarded there.
Extras: the gate to the beach. Ruby Alton was a long time resident of the island, and she left her property "...as a lasting legacy to nature and her community." (from the sign on the gate) It's wonderful to have access to the beach here. Not a great beach, very rocky and slippery with seaweed this morning, but it's always a treat to be down by the water.
The other extra is an old piece of driftwood that's now a feeder tree. Lots of little plants have taken root in it.
