Western Red Lily (Prairie Lily)

When we first moved to this field about 12 years ago, this bright orange beauty was here waiting for us. Each summer ever since it has come to life to offer us once again the beautiful orange colors this flower is known for.

There were two plants right beside one another and they were really the only two flowering plants on the yard. We’ve added to their number more and more different kinds of wild grass flowers and the like.

But each July they remind us in brilliant stunning color, that they were here first.

And I love being reminded in this way.
