wild & precious life

Our current location

By the sea. You can't see our motorhome in this photo though.

(Backblip) Today, we got to bring our beautiful Caesar home!

He was wobbly and very doped up, but pleased to see us and little Bruno.
Shortly afterwards, Bruno turned a bit vicious with him which is apparently due to the change in smell (he does smell very differently to us humans, so imagine to a dog!) and to his spaced out, stary eyes which he will be reading as threatening.
Caesar needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap. Little but often meals, barely any exercise, protective cone. The slow road to recovery begins. The rule that remains forever, they said, is gaps of 2 hours between feeding and exercise to minimise this happening again! I now need to manage my anxiety around the fact that this could happen again!!!!!!!!!!! All due care will obviously be taken to ensure it doesn't :-(
I'm feeling sad that all the beach walks I promised him won't be happening this time. Not to worry, he is here with us and time will come again for our lovely experiences together. Maybe this is forcing rest upon me too. I will just be here at his side with my book & the sea air.

We are due to leave our site tomorrow & move to the next one (Marazion) We asked the wardens if there was room to stay so as not to disturb Caesar but alas they are fully booked. Anyway, a little later on they got a cancellation so we can stay! Perhaps our luck is changing now and the tide is turning.
