Freed Dronefly

I photographed a hornet catching a beetle the other day and today I got very close to one with a fly. So annoyed, both shots were soft. :(

Weirdly today I released a fly caught in burdock hooks nearly to the day when I did the same last year and blipped it. Last year's fly was a flesh fly, today's, I think, a plain-faced dronefly. Poor thing was caught by its mouthparts. I carefully pulled the burdock bud apart trying not to damage the insect and was delighted when it flew free. It landed and groomed its mouthparts but I don't think they're meant to feature that right angle. :(
