A Tribute to Naked Athena

If you have been watching the news, you know that something bad has been going down in Portland, Oregon. You can look up the news yourself to learn more.

The other evening, something astounding happened. In the early morning hours, a naked woman arrived on the scene, and sauntered down the street between police and protesters.

Dressed only in a beanie and a mask, she sat down on the ground. She performed ballet and yoga moves. “Everyone seemed surprised and kind of astounded,” said Dave Killen, a photographer for The Oregonian/OregonLive.

Police fired pepper balls at the woman's feet. A protester tried to shield her, but she evaded his attempts. After about 10 minutes, the police departed.

I have to admit that I too was amazed by the mystery woman's actions. I have heard of many tactics used to bring an end to confrontations. Personal public nudity was never a strategy I would have thought up myself. Surprisingly, it seems to have worked.

So we decided that we would arrange a little tribute photo shoot for Naked Athena. I found a ballerina from a jewelry box to serve as our lead character. I tried to take her tutu off, but it would have ruined it to do so, so we left it on.

She has arrived on the scene on a magical frog. Both police and protesters have been stunned by her appearance. The guns have been laid down. This is Naked Athena's moment to shine!

The soundtrack song for this posting is John Mellencamp, with Dance Naked.
