High Street

We needed to fill the car up with petrol, only the third time since lockdown, so we left the car at Morrisons car park and walked into town.  It was fairly quiet, though there were more people around than the last time we were here.

Some of the cafes are open, including Bardias at the entrance to Bell Court.  So in an attempt to practice normality we decided to have a coffee there.  The High Street has barriers erected to impose a one-way direction for traffic and to widen the pedestrian areas for social distancing.  This also enabled the cafes to have tables and chairs outside as they are nearly all take-out only.

Unfortunately the barriers do not do much for the ambiance of the town, even with the new trees and hanging baskets.  It gives an impression of only being temporary.  The shopkeepers are not too happy either as parking has been severely restricted, no pulling up and popping into the shop!
