Chicory Blooms

“Wildflowers can't be controlled, and neither can the girl with a soul boundless as the sky, and a spirit as free and wild as the ocean.”
― Melody Lee, in Moon Gypsy.

There are wildflowers growing along the front of our yard, down by the road. I saw them lit up in the morning sun and decided I must make a picture. So here is a shot for you to enjoy of the periwinkle colored blooms of chicory. Oh the simple pleasures of life are to be found among the wildflowers. . . .

The soundtrack song is by Tom Petty. It's called Wildflowers, from the 1994 album of the same name. Here is a luscious, harmony-rich cover by the Wailin' Jennys. I'm also including the final live performance of this song by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, recorded just a bit more than a week before his passing in 2017.
