Bluebell Cottage Garden

A morning visit to Bluebell Cottage Garden Nursery, and it’s associated garden. It is not big, but the informal mix of perennials is just wonderful.

Standing In the drizzle looking at the pond in the foreground of this image, a robin flew down and posed atop the bench in front of us. I lowered my phone and clicked. I quite like this shot, even if the bird is not as well focussed as it might be. A robin is not just for Christmas.

We shared the garden with, but avoided, a couple like ourselves, a group of six elderly ladies having a good old non stop natter as they walked around, and a chap and his young son and daughter. ”Remember what I’ve told you about social distancing” he told them as they started their visit. They then excitedly ran in all directions, the green swards were just waiting to be run and played along. You just cannot stop kids being kids.

We had a really walk from the garden. And Sue Beesley, who owns the nursery and garden, appeared In a little video on the RHS’s online “Tatton at home” today.
