Alpine Sea Holly (Eryngium alpinum)

Something of an emergency blip as we'd worked outside a fair part of the day but my project, digging out an earthy bank, was decidely unphotogenic.
However, this sea holly was nearby and together with the bees  it always makes a good picture.
The name - alpine sea holly - is a little strange since the Alps and the sea do not interrelate much. An alternate name is "Queen of the Alps" which seems more suitable.
I put my new plant identification  app to use here and it confirmed the id and gave me the Latin name.
By the time we got in and cleaned ourselves up and ate the dinner Jan prepared in zero time it was 10 o'clock, and we both feel exhausted. Not much commenting tonight I'm afraid.
