Summer Weather

There's nothing uplifting to say about today's weather. It has been tipping it down all day. This miserable looking female blackbird on the wall was photographed at breakfast time and there's been nothing better, and certainly nothing drier, to record since then. Now, at just after 5pm the rain is finally ceasing but the wind is gathering strength. What's going on?

In contrast to the weather we have had a nice family day. The five year old was up bright and early for her customary three breakfasts (porridge with me, toast with Cameraman and a solo bowl of rice crispies). We set off mid morning to take her home where she and her wee sister greeted each other as if they'd been separated for months not a few hours. Then we went on to Glasgow for a welcome lunch and a bit of time with our grandson. No day for playing in the park but we managed a very wet plod round the block to get some air before going back to his house for books and snacks.

Home now, Flora has been walked again and as far as I'm concerned that's it for today. The forecast is better for tomorrow and I really hope it's right.
