Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Firstly, to resolve yesterday's bird mystery, I returned to the scene and was lucky to capture a short clip (action starts about 20 seconds in) of an adult bird calling two juveniles out of the woods and passing food in mid-air, following by sustained calling from the woods. The consensus of my birding friends on Twitter is that they're Sparrowhawk.

it wasn't that warm out but the meadow is quite sheltered so there were plenty of butterflies and dragonflies, including five or six Comma, of which this is one, which was the most I'd seen together in one spot for a while.
