If you can't beat them...

Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris )

Since more or thess the start of Lockdown the Squirrels have been early morning visitors, showing up as nuts disappearing and on the trail cam.  This morning I looked out of the window and there was this little chap on the ground under the feeders, nibbling on the black sunflower seeds dropped by the birds.  Interestingly going by the Squirrel food in the feeder they don't like the white striped Sunflower seeds, at least the choose to ignore them.

I am fairly certain this individual is a newcomer to us.   I can't identify it as one of our usual three visitors and its behaviour is different from the other three.  It is much more content to feed on the ground and never ventured up the feeders.
