Service

This sign is reflective of how it’s done here - pull up, honk and someone comes out to serve you. You get to stay in your car in the heat and humidity, as for the server.. we can only hope they get good tips. It’s done in many types of small shops, and it was the same in Kw8. I doubt, with the push to have more locals employed and the numbers of expat workers allowed in these countries to be reduced that this type of service will continue.
A lazy morning, short walk and a bit of work. Then a lovely chat with a British woman I met in Kw8 who is now back at home for a break. Good to talk to her and her mum, but they’re not enjoying the weather! We’re both not sure whether we’ll get back there or not but a friend worth having.
Another walk, the last hour before curfew means that street parking is empty so it’s easier to walk. At about 15 minutes before curfew the police drive around with lights and sirens on to encourage people to get home. Today was a public holiday for Eid Al Adha, the second of the two major Muslim festivals. It was announced that the holiday is now extended to next Thursday, it was supposed to be Monday. I think that’ll mean people can spend more time with family, I don’t know whether that’ll help or hinder the spread of the virus.
Lots more repat flights to many different countries were advertised tonight. My name is on one of them, it’s time to go.
