Where once Burtons used to be

We went into Loughborough to see Aziz and buy prawns for supper. Loughborough's marketing team are trying hard to get people to come into town. No chance this year of putting on dog or classic car shows. Instead, they're promoting actual businesses, many of which have gone out of business.

You see the German Doner Kebab in the photo? That used to be Burtons Menswear. The marketplace is now full of places to eat and buy coffee but the regular traders still come, in smaller  numbers, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Note the kiddies' roundabout, an attempt to draw families in.

It's normally a lot busier on a  market day. Probably just as well that it wasn't that busy. Hardly any idea of social distancing.

Len has the car at tennis, so Basil will have to put up with a plod round the estate possibly finishing at Colin's for a G&T, I hope.
