Ruby Throated Hummingbird

I took a little time this morning to sit outside and watch the birds while Kent finished cutting the grass and the generator was running under load for maintenance purposes

The feeders were visited by Nuthatch, Chickadee, Titmice, HouseFinch, ChippingSparrows, Cardinals, Red-Bellied Woodpecker.

I caught this male Ruby Throated Hummingbird resting on the clothesline, where the light caught his neck feathers beautifully, before he went to the feeder to get a long drink.  The female Ruby Throated Hummingbird chose to get her fill by tasting the nectar of all the Canna Lily blooms that are out. Fortunately there are plenty at the moment.

After watching the birds, I went about and collected all my yard decor from the yard and porch in preparation of Hurricane Isaias arriving Monday night.

The grass cutting and decor collecting was done just in time as it is now thunderstorms out there with plenty of lightening.

Glad I did my shopping on Wednesday because there are all kinds out there today and will be even more out there tomorrow.  Nothing like being prepared like you should in advance.  Lets you rest more at ease.

Stay at home if you can, but stay safe and stay healthy for sure!
