A Semblance of Normality

In January, myself and one of my oldest friends decided we were going to walk the Fife Pilgrim Way.
We started off well, then a pandemic caused havoc.
We resumed the challenge today, walking from Lochore to Leslie. The weather was lovely and the complete opposite of the original day in February that we had planned to do this leg - that was cancelled due to torrential rain and high winds.
It was really difficult seeing each other after almost 5 months and not being able to give each other our usual hugs. Equally, walking 11 miles keeping 2 metres apart was incredibly tricky. Our customary walk selfies were imaginative in order to maintain social distance.
The chat was unaffected and the miles passed quickly.
We stopped before the recommended point because we had walked an extra 2 miles unintentionally and were waylaid by a lovely impromptu catch up at a friend's farm after I realised that the path passed through their land. Again, no hugs but a leisurely hour in the garden catching up.
We have Part 4 in the diary for this month.
